Fello Privacy Policy

Summary

Fello is designed to keep your cards and contacts on your device. There is no Fello account, no advertising, and no tracking for ads. Cards and captured people can sync to your private iCloud container when you are signed in to iCloud.

Information stored on your device

Fello stores the cards you create, people you save, and related details such as names, contact fields, photos you add, notes, and follow-up reminders. Interaction history stays on this device.

If iCloud is enabled for the app, cards and people may sync through Apple’s CloudKit in your private iCloud container. That data is associated with your Apple ID under Apple’s privacy terms.

Permissions you can grant

Contacts — optional. You can import a contact to prefill a card, or export a saved person to Contacts. Fello does not upload your address book.

Photos — optional. You can choose a profile photo from your library.

Camera — optional. Used when you scan a business card, badge, or QR code.

Location and calendars — optional, and used on-device to suggest where or when you met someone. These suggestions are a Fello Pro feature.

Notifications — optional. Used for follow-up reminders you set on a person.

Apple Wallet

When you add a card to Apple Wallet or edit a card that already has a pass, Fello sends the card fields needed to sign that pass to the Fello pass service. The service returns a Wallet pass. It does not create a public profile or a Fello account.

Card scanning

Scanning starts on your device. Images stay on the iPhone. If you use Fello Pro and accept the AI disclosure, Fello may send the recognised text lines — not the photo — to the Fello parse service so a card can be turned into contact fields.

That service may use OpenAI as a subprocessor to parse the text. Fello does not send card photos to OpenAI, and the app does not call OpenAI directly.

Analytics and advertising

Fello does not show third-party ads. Fello does not sell personal information. Fello does not use advertising trackers.

How we use information

Information is used to show your cards, share them, save people you meet, sign Wallet passes, improve a scan you start, send reminders you asked for, and respond to support requests.

Your choices

You can delete a card or person in the app, turn off iCloud for Fello in device settings, revoke permissions in iOS Settings, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes local data on that device. iCloud copies follow Apple’s iCloud deletion rules.
